interpolation methods nitrogen deposition

Hello!
Among the interpolation methods in cdo (remapnn, remapbil, etc), which one is the best fit for atmospheric nitrogen deposition (NHx and NOy)? I would appreciate if someone has experiences and give suggestions. Thanks!

hi!

I think this depends on multiple aspects:

  • target and source resolution
  • range of values
  • presence of missing values
  • gradients in the fields
  • what you want to do with the data afterwards - some aspects of interpolation might have bad influence on the application (global integral, gradients, difference in land-sea-mask)
