Dummy axis of subscripts

Hello
When I use the command cdo ymonmean ifile.nc outfile.nc,

I get the output:

NOTE: Coordinates out of order or missing on axis time at subscript 8*
NOTE: A dummy axis of subscripts will be used

I am unable to see the months or days any longer. They are replaced with numbers.
How do I get the months and days to show again?
