Interpolating vegetation map
Added by Guilherme Martins about 8 years ago
Hi all,
I'd like to interpolate my vegetation map, but I'm not sure that operator I have to use. I don't know if I can use remapbil in the categorical values like in my map.
My file is in attchment and your resolution is 10km and I'd like to interpolate to 50km resolution.
Can anyone give me a tip?
My file information.
#- gridID 1
#
gridtype = lonlat
gridsize = 6480000
xname = lon
xlongname = longitude
xunits = degrees_east
yname = lat
ylongname = latitude
yunits = degrees_north
xsize = 3600
ysize = 1800
xfirst = -179.95
xinc = 0.1
yfirst = -89.95
yinc = 0.100000000000009
Thanks,
Guilherme Martins.

Hi Guilherme,
Interpolation between different categories often doesn't make sense. I would recommend to use the operator remaplaf for categorical values. This operator find the category with the largest area and use exactly this category without any changes.
Cheers,
Uwe
