CNRM-CERFACS-CNRM-CM5 netcdf files

Added by Beata Szabo-Takacs almost 9 years ago

Hi,

When I use any output of CNRM-CERFACS-CNRM-CM5 model in CDO I got an unknown error message. Could someone explain me what should be the matter?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Can you share the error message? Or perhaps the location of a sample file?

Dear Matthew,

Thank you for your response! The error message is the following:

cdo sinfo: Open failed on
>pr_EUR-11_CNRM-CERFACS-CNRM-CM5_historical_r1i1p1_SMHI-RCA4_v1_day_19710101-19751231.nc<
Unknown Error

I cannot upload a sample file because its size larger than 50 MB, but I can send you a sample file to your email adress by filesender. Would it be appropriate for you?

Dear Beata,

Try the NCO tool ncks to select only a few time steps of your netCDF file, here is an example:

ncks -d time,0,3 ifile ofile
If you can reproduce this CDO problem on the result of the above command then please upload this smaller file.

Cheers, Uwe

Dear Uwe,

Thank you very much for your help. I could create a smaller file by your suggestion. I uploaded the sample file.

Cheers, Beata

Thanks! Unfortunately I can't reproduce this problem with CDO version 1.6.4 and 1.6.9. Can you reproduce this problem with the small file?

Yes, unfortunately I got the same problem with the smaller file too:

RE: CNRM-CERFACS-CNRM-CM5 netcdf files - Added by Beata Szabo-Takacs almost 9 years ago

Dear Uwe and Matthew,

I could solve the matter. It was not caused by CDO. Some weeks ago I installed hdf5-1.8.15-patch1.gz and netcdf-4.3.3.1.gz for Java application. However these libraries were installed another directory than the libraries for CDO, but they caused trouble. I uninstalled them so the CDO already works with CNRM-CERFACS-CNRM netcdf files.

Many thanks for your responses again!

Cheers,
Beata
