sellonlatbox, masklonlatbox and curvilinear grids

'sellonlatbox' does a very nice (albeit un-documented) job on curivilinear grids : it selects the range of x and y coordinates that allow to cover entirely the required latlon box. However, the grid cells who are in the 'xy' box but do not belong to the latlon box (due to the cruvature of the grid) are not masked. And masklatlonbox complains when feeded with a curvilinear grid. Is there a workaround ?

OK, sorry for the qualifier 'albeit undocumented' : I read too quick at once, and as for the whole CDO doc, it is much concise but much accurate in the wording.

However, my question still holds : while the doc for masklonlatbox use the same wording as the one for sellonlatbox, the operator , under version 1.5.6.1, replies :

cdo(4) masklonlatbox (Abort): No regular grid found!

Support for curvilinear grids for the CDO operator masklonlatbox will be available in the next CDO release.
