CDO

I am trying to do a crazy "What if...?" climate model experiment that involves changing the location of the poles. So, mind you, I am not merely trying to use a rotated pole grid, I am actually trying to locate the pole somewhere else (for instance, in Australia).

Is it possible to use CDO to somehow transform coordinates accordingly?

I have tried the setgrid route with new xnpole, ynpole values, but this only seems to change the way data is displayed. It does not really change the "physical" location of the pole.
