Why is there not a daymul function?

There is a yearmul and monmul function, but not daymul function to allow one to multiple an hourly resolution timeseries with a daily resolution timeseries, (similarly for division). Any chance this can be put on the "to do" list, or "feature request" list please for a future cdo release? :-) thanks and best wishes, Adrian Tompkins

Hi Adrian,
That's right, these functions are still missing. We try to keep the functionality in CDO as small as possible and extend it as needed. A new module with daymul and daydiv will be available in the next release. It is already available for testing in the next bug fix release 2.0.3, which will be available during the next week.

That's great, thanks so much. And thank you for the nice comments on the videos... I'm having fun making them even though I get time to do one every month or so... In the spring I will be launching an EDX-based climate data analyse course incorporating all the videos and setting a series of try-it-at-home tasks for participants to carry out using CDO. I'll let you know when it is ready as it might be helpful as an additional tutorial.

ps: just to confirm, will the update include all the math functions, e.g. daysub and dayadd as well as daymul and daydiv?

Yes, all 4 functions are available in CDO 2.0.3.
