What does remaplaf really do? largest area fraction remapping

Added by Florian Pappenberger about 12 years ago

Dear all,

I read the description in SCRIP, but I am still a bit unsure, maybe you can help. Is my understanding correct: IF I have a grid of 0's and 1's, then remaplaf will give me the fraction of 1's on my new grid?

cheers,
florian

Dear Florian,

Assuming you dataset contains key value data like land type, e.g.:
1 water
2 glacier
3 forest
4 desert

The result of remaplaf is the landtype with the largest area fraction for each target grid cell.

Best regards,
Uwe
