error with cat function

Dear sir,
when I used cat function to join three input files as given below, I got the following error. Actually It was working well previously.Now Its giving error. what should I do now? urgent kindly help.
cdo cat op1.nc op2.nc op3.nc tno.nc
cdo cat: 54%cdf_get_vara_float: ncid = 65536 varid = 6
Error (cdf_get_vara_float): NetCDF: HDF error
Error (cdf_close): NetCDF: HDF error

Without the files it's not possible to help. Also the CDO version would be interesting to know
