cdo built with netcdf but still "library support not compiled in" ?

Added by Hera Gudlaugsdottir almost 9 years ago

Hello,
The cdo -V command is as follows:

Climate Data Operators version 1.6.4 (http://code.zmaw.de/projects/cdo)
Compiled: by hera on askja-dw383.rhi.hi.is (x86_64-apple-darwin14.1.0) May 3 2015 15:14:38
Compiler: gcc -g -O2 -D_THREAD_SAFE -pthread
version: Apple LLVM version 6.1.0 (clang-602.0.49) (based on LLVM 3.6.0svn)
Features: PTHREADS Z
Libraries:
Filetypes: srv ext ieg grb nc
CDI library version : 1.6.4 of May 3 2015 15:14:30
CGRIBEX library version : 1.6.4 of Jun 27 2014 14:00:04
netCDF library version : 4.3.2 of Feb 23 2015 23:42:28 $
SERVICE library version : 1.3.2 of May 3 2015 15:14:20
EXTRA library version : 1.3.2 of May 3 2015 15:14:16

And as can be seen the netcdf has been installed. I however still get the error message

"Unsupported file type (library support not compiled in)"

when I want cdo to open and read .nc files. Any clues on why this is?

thanks,
Hera

you seem to use an old version. Did you try to install cdo via macports, anaconda or homwbrew? see MacOS_Platform or Anaconda or homebrew

Thank you for this, I did re-install the netcdf and cdo using homebrew and now cdo -V gives:

Climate Data Operators version 1.6.9 (http://mpimet.mpg.de/cdo)

The hdf5 lib is there now, but not before. I however still get this message when I use afterburner. I assume I need to re-install it again, but do you know how I would attach the newly installed netcdf and hdf5 lib and include files to the afterburner ? I do not find them when I look in the folder that homebrew uses.

greetings,
Hera

could you upload the file (or at least some parts of it) and your call?

I found the files and I have now cdo and afterburner properly installed, finally.
Thank you for your reply.
