spcut

Hi, I am wondering what is the status of spcut, the operator for filtering zonal wavenumbers from a field?

I am using v.1.4.6 and the function is still in there, but I see it has disappeared from the reference card and documentation. I am trying to use that feature and I would like to know whether it is working correctly or not.

Hi Chris,

To make the Documentation as clearly as possible, I'm trying to sort out CDO functions which are not used or not clear documented. spcut was implemented only for one student and now this function is not used anymore at our institute. This function has one limitation which is not documented. The parameter wnums (wave numbers) have to be successive numbers starting at 1. Otherwise the result is incorrect.

cdo spcut,1,2,3,4   ifile ofile  # ok
cdo spcut,1,4,6,7   ifile ofile  # wrong result
cdo spcut,2,3,4,5   ifile ofile  # wrong result
This problem is fixed for the next CDO release.
