How to read a .csv file in cdo?
Added by Ciara O'Hara over 10 years ago
Hello all,
I have a file in .csv format and want to carry out an operation on it in cdo. However I can't find any reference to importing a .csv file in cdo, is there any way to do it? Since I can't find any way to do it I've been trying to convert the file to netcdf format using other programs (R and ferret) but so far I have been unsuccessful. I'll keep trying that, but I'm surprised that there is no way to interact with .csv files in cdo. Is that really the case?
Any help appreciated.

I don't think CDO can convert csv file - if it is in "lon, lat, value" format then you may try the xyz2grd GMT tool to convert to NetCDF: https://www.soest.hawaii.edu/gmt/gmt/html/man/xyz2grd.html
