cdo: error while loading shared libraries

Added by Joseph S over 3 years ago

Greetings:

My linux OS, Linux Mint, recently upgraded from version 19.2 to 20. Following this, my installed CDO package (which was 1.9.8) no longer works. I receive the following error message when I run the cdo -v command from the terminal:

cdo: error while loading shared libraries: libeccodes.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have tried numerous solutions from stackexchange to resolve issues with shared libraries and shared object files, but none have worked so far. I also completely removed cdo, and reinstalled it using the command conda install cdo, and also sudo apt install cdo. The issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas for resolution are greatly appreciated! Thanks kindly! :)

--RESOLVED--

Please disregard my previous question. I was able to successfully resolve this issue. I completely removed/purged eccodes, libeccodes, cdo, and all dependencies> The, I reinstalled eccodes, cdo, and libeccodes using the synaptic install manager in Linux Mint. CDO functions perfectly again. :)

Kind regards,
Joseph
