Linux Platform¶
32/64bit Linux is the main Platform within our institute. CDO is developed and variously used on Linux-based workstations and clusters (http://cis.zmaw.de/Compute.106.0.html). Its installation should work out of the box. Please note, that there exists packages/ports for various Linux distributions:- Debian package for many different hardware platforms, which also makes CDO available for Debian-derived systems like Ubuntu (see here). Due to licence limitation, binary versions cannot provide szip compression. Installation via the source package has to be done to achieve this.
- Arch Linux uses something similar to the ports collection called AUR. See here for CDO releases.
- opensuse holds downloadable packages for multiple openSUSE and fedora distros.
- Spack is a source code based package manager - very flexible
