sigma coordinate

Hi all,
could you please tell me that cdo supports sigma coordinate?

hi pooran!
There is a whole zoo of vertical axis for climate model components. sigma
is not specific enough. What CDO supports is
- hybrid sigma pressure/height (atmosphere model like ECHAM) (
remapeta
) - simple vertical coordinate, that is the same for all locations, e.g. a list pf depths for an ocean model (
intlevel
) - ICON atmophere 3D pressure coordinate (
ap2pl
)
just have a look into the pdf, page 160-166

I have a salinity and temperature data that I have downloaded them from hycom model,This model has z coordinate, I need to convert them to sigma coordinate,
can cdo do it?
sorry, if I my question is very simple, I am new user

I don't have any idea, what this sigma coordinate is, so I cannot tell you, sorry

Dear ,
Actually,The σ-coordinate is defined by σ = z/D where D is the total depth. where σ varies between 0 at the bottom and 1 at the surface.
