CDO

Hi,

I am using CDO with ECMWF data on model levels and would like to add a variable containing the corresponding geometrical heights to the nc file (just as pressure_fl does it for pressure). Is there any experimental operator doing this starting from ECMWF variables (geopotential, pressure, temperature)? I am looking for exact calculations and not for the approximate plevel = 101325 ∗ exp(hlevel/ − 7000) with fixed scale height used e.g. by the ml2hl operator. Such an operator would be of great help when using model data to perform radiative transfer calculations for remote sensing observations (e.g. satellites).
