ETCCDI on selected months?

I am planning to assess the impact of extreme weather on crop yields.
However, I would like to constrain the ETCCDI calculation on selected months rather than the whole year, i.e. only the months of the growing season - typically Sep-Mar for my study area.
Is it possible to achieve that with the CDO implementation of ETCCDI?
Why do that? Because there are cases where for example most of the precipitation is observed outside of the growing season months. In those cases, annual cumulative precipitation would not be at all a good predictor for crop yields.
