Hi all and thanks in advanced，
I'm new to CDO, please excuse me for asking some simple question
How can I get the monthly anomaly field from the monthly precipitation data？
i try to get the result by following commands but failed:
cdo timavg pre_mon.nc pre_mon_avg.nc
cdo sub pre_mon.nc pre_mon_avg.nc result.nc
I found result.nc has only one time

use ymonmean instead of timavg.
