Remapbil sufficient for precipitation-source grid and target grid of same resolution-Regd.

Added by Naveen Pothula about 4 years ago

Dear Sir,

I want to interpolate daily precipitation data on regular latlon grids to another regular latlon grids (both have same resolution 0.5 deg. x o.5 deg.). But the location of grid centers is different between the two grids.

For example in one grid description file the lat starts at 12 deg N and lon starts at 80 deg E, then in other grid descrption one grid starts at 12.5 N and lon starts at 80.5 deg E, but the increment in lat an lon are the same i.e., 0.5 deg.

Should I use conservative remapping or is it sufficient to use bilinear interpolation in CDO?

Kindly answer,
best wishes,
naveen

Hi Naveen,

please, upload the data file and the two grid description files your are talking about. Also the cdo command you are using is very helpful.
