cdo remapcon: format of target file

Added by Gudfinna Adalgeirsdottir almost 14 years ago

Hello,

I would like to use cdo remapcon to map climate model fields to a polar stereographic grid and
then back again. The remapbil, remapbic and remapnn work on my target and input files, but
remapcon and remapcon2 ask for corner points, with error message:

cdo remapcon (Abort): grid1 corner missing!

Following the guidelines in the SCRIP manual I have create a file to use as target file
with grid_center_lat and lon as well as grid_corner_lat and lon (4 corner points),
similar to the remap_grid_T42 file in the SCRIP documentation (Figure 2.2).
Using this new file as target file I still get the same error message: grid1 corner missing!

Where can I find how the target file should look like in order to use the cdo remapcon function?

thank you for help on this question,
Gudfinna

Dear Gudfinna,
The grid corners are needed for the target and source grid for the interpolation with remapcon. You can check the grid information of the source grid with the operator info.

Uwe
