Singling out time series data at a particular location and calculating the annual cycle
Added by Navajyoth MP about 7 years ago
Hey,
I have 2 queries.
1. I have a daily time series data (netCDF format) in a domain from which I have to select the data at a particular lat-lon coordinate. How do I do that in CDO?
2. I need to calculate the annual cycle of the data (defined as the sum of annual and semiannual harmonics) at this particular location. Is it possible to do this using CDO? If not, kindly suggest me another method. I've tried SciPy and I can't get it working.
P.S. Find attached the plot of a sample data at a particular location and the annual cycle.

Hi Navajyoth,
to 1. to retrieve the data near to a given location, e.g. lat=106.5 lon=-6
cdo remapnn,lon=106.5_lat=-6 $infile tmp.nc
to 2. to compute the annual cycle
cdo ymonmean tmp.nc $outfile
