Extreme Value Statistics & return period

Added by H Pal almost 7 years ago

Hello,

I have my 30-year daily time series of precip and I would like to get the 100-year return period value of my series. This is the event that has the annual probability of occurrence of 1%?

Is there an operators or a quick way to do it ?

Thanks

Sorry, Pal, there is no such operator.

Quick way - well, depends on what exactly is meant by

annual probability of occurrence of 1%
TBH, I have no clue.

cheers

It is just the event that has a 1 % probability of occurring in a given year (1 chance in 100).

It seems that I might have to combine series of operators to calculate this
