Unsupported grid type: generic

I want to remap the curvilinear grid (streg1lay12.nc) to a regular grid.
First I tried to use the remap, like
cdo -remap,r360*180,standardgrid180x360.nc sstreg1lay12.nc out.nc
the standardgrid180x360.nc and the sstreg1lay12.nc are generated by me.
But It shows the Unsupported grid type: generic error.
Then I calculate the weights by using genbil, still the error Unsupported grid type: generic.
I would be appreciate if anyone could help.

Sorry about that.
I have been struggled on this problem for the whole afternoon.
After posting the problem online the problem solved.
The sstreg1lay12.nc lack for the Grid coordinates. After I add the Grid coordinates, everything worked.
