Convert LCC/Mercator netcdf to lat-lon GRIB2

Hi,
I have the output of WRF from a number of both LCC and Mercator grids, and I need to convert them to latlon GRIB's, with identical configurations to that which NOAA provides from its GRIB filter (nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/filter_gfs_1p00.pl).
Is this possible with CDO? I've been experimenting with "./cdo -f grb2 copy in.nc out.grib2" but the best I get is a GRIB that appears to have no distance on the latitude coordinate, which I expect is related to the transformation from mercator to lat-lon.

lon 134.765899 to 154.087799 by 0.042187 #points=207009
If someone has some ideas (even with other software, NCL, UPP...) I would love to hear them...
