remapnn from ORAP5 1442x1021 to 360x180 very slow (@3hours for one var, one month of monthly means)

Hi all,

I'm remapping (nn) ORAP5 monthly means 1442x1021 to 360x180, and even with 

-P 8
it's taking approx. 3 hours per monthly file. Does anyone have suggestions on how I might speed up the remapping -- even an alternative/faster method?

Hi Judy,

Which CDO version are you using?
We have replaced the NN search algorithm in CDO version 1.7.0 to a much faster method.

One last question -- I just learned there is a 1.7.2 release, I assume this would keep me more current?

We installed 1.7.0 for now and went from 3 hours to 3 minutes in processing a monthly 1442x1021 file! My apologies for not keeping up with the releases and taking up your time unnecessarily. We really appreciate your work on CDO, I use it every day!
