looking to take mean of the Oct-Nov temperature (sort of like seasmean, SON, except minus September)

Hello,

I am looking to take the mean of the October/November surface temperature, however I am unsure of what to use, since selseas only works for SON, and selmon,10,11 will separate the October and November temperatures. Instead I want to take the mean of the October/November surface temperature. Is there a command (or series of commands) that could bring me in the correct direction?

I figured out a possible solution I think:

yearmean -selmon,10,11 $ifile $ofile

Am I on the right track?
