CDO

Dea Forum,

I usually use CDO to calculate monthly anomalies from model runs the following way:

cdo -ymonsub in.nc -ymonmean in.nc anomalies.nc

However, I have now output from the NCAR CESM model, which uses a strange calendar notion:

For instance the monthly mean January history file will use the time_bnds qualifier and the calendar will show 1st of February for this file (instead of 15. January).

Is there a simple workaround for this issue in CDO or will CDO even automatically use the correct month?
