Missing vars after remap using cdo (and/or iconremap)

When running icon on original grid with:
initicon_nml
init_mode = 7 ! start from initialized DWD analysis
dwdfg_filename = './dwdANA_R<nroot>B<jlev>_DOM<idom>.grb' ! initialized analysis data
ltile_coldstart = .TRUE. ! coldstart for surface tiles
lp2cintp_sfcana = .TRUE. ! interpolate surface analysis from global domain onto nest
ana_varnames_map_file = 'map_file.ana' ! dictionary mapping internal names onto GRIB2 shortNames
/
it runs, but when remapping dwdANA to any other grid (either direct cdo/iconremap, keeping all the variables), temp is incomplete (albeit all levels are consistent etc):

hi!
your log upload shows errors that might have lead to corrupted output files.
if you need help for a CDO call, please provide the exact call and the input file (or at least a valid path on a machine I have access, too ;-) )

btw: this is the CDO forum. I just happen to know something about ICON. what is called init_icon is documented in the official ICON guide and maintained by DWD. just sayin.
