Precision-trimming expressions for cdo

Dear Uwe and Community,

I have implemented a couple of precision-trimming functions that enable the use of a lossy compression with cdo.
This interface seems much more simple and natural than what has been implemented in netcdf-C or nco..
Please consider including them into the next release.

Thanks for the precision-trimming functions! Your patch will be available in the next CDO release 2.5.4.

Thank you! I hope you have checked the patch carefully :) I did my best, but few more pairs of eyes to look and hands to test would not do any harm...
